CIPAD
CULTURE INFORMATION PASTORALIST DEVELOPMENT
SUPPORT AND CARE ACTIVITIES UNDERTAKEN
BY PARTNER ORGANIZATION,
KENYA RED CROSS
AND
FHI –SOLO0LO
CIPAD established partnership with Kenya Red cross and FHI –Sololo
in the areas of people living with HIV/AIDS in Obbu and Uran divisions.
 
1) KENYA REDCROSS- Moyale office.
The lead agency for the government of Kenya Relief food distribution in Moyale district
The distribution targets the most vulnerable groups in the society.
CIPAD wrote a request letter to the district steering group (DSG),
the district organ which provides leadership, supervision in all development projects in the district.
The DSG through the Red Cross provide nutritional support to PLWHIV/AIDS
The foods include maize, beans, and cooking oil.
The distribution is not regular on monthly basis but when it is available.
An average of 10 bags of maize, 3 bags of beans and 18 liters of cooking oil.
The distribution is done according to the number of PLWHIV/AIDS.
Orphan and vulnerable children are not targeted for food distribution.
2) FHI-Sololo office
They have a new HIV/AIDS care and support project in Obbu and uran divisions.
Their project targets people living with HIV/AIDS and AIDS orphaned children.
The partnership role of CIPAD is to identify, do counseling, register
PLWAS into support group and link group members to FHI care and support project
They provide nutritional support on quarterly basis to PLWAS.
They pay medical bill for PLWAS for people living with HIV/AIDS
who seek treatment at Sololo hospital.
They further provide school uniforms for HIV orphan children
who are registered with them.
Orphan and Vulnerable Children who are supported by CIPAD
and have benefited from school uniforms provided by CCM is not targeted.
This was done through sharing of beneficiary’s lists in each school.
CIPAD do not manage any resources from FHI-Sololo.
