DISCUSSION WITH ANTONELLA – CCM NAIROBI.
        
          PROJECT TITLE: HEALTH INSURANCE COVER FOR VULNERABLE 
          FAMILIES 
         CONCEPT
         This is a pilot project running from June 
          2012 to May, 2013
          The project will contribute fund to NHIF on behalf of the beneficiaries. 
          The beneficiaries are issued with NHIF card as a registered member. 
          The head of the families is the contributor and the dependents are the 
          beneficiaries. The beneficiaries who are sick will present their active 
          NHIF card to Sololo hospital for treatment. Sololo hospital will Invoice 
          NHIF for payment for the treatment bills of the beneficiaries.
          CIPAD will identify the beneficiaries through agreed criteria of selection 
          and provide Sololo hospital with a list and conduct workable agreement 
          
          CIPAD will sensitize government authority and other development actors 
          in Sololo district
          CIPAD will supervise, monitor the service delivery both at facility 
          level and household level and produce report for CCM.
          The beneficiaries will be sensitized to at least contribute 10 % to 
          NHIF on monthly basis to enhance sustainability of health care service 
          and ownership of the project after phase out.
          It is expected that the project will impact on larger community to embrace 
          NHIF cover and register in large numbers and benefit in access to health 
          care service

        TARGET BENEFICARIES
         1. Families of orphans and vulnerable children 
          who are destitute
          2. vulnerable families in abject poverty with no any form of income, 
          livestock 
          3. people with disability who are desperate and with families
          4. poorest families with large number of dependents
          5. widows, single parents, with large dependents
          6. child headed families who are very needy
        CRITERIA
        1. No any source of income
          2. own no livestock , valuable properties
          3. Number of dependents
          4. advance age
          5. disability
          6. permanent resident of Sololo district
          7. willingness of the individual beneficiary to cooperate with project 
          team
        NB: The lowest monthly contribution for 
          NHIF is 300/= per person starting June, 2012, According the new policy
